My First Penniless Flight to S. Korea (2023)   I remember it vividly like it was yesterday. It was a friday morning, the 14th of July 2023. I had sat in the garden of our church compound together with my two sisters, Favour and Celine. Everyone else had received their passports expect Favour, Jackline and I hence we had gone to the garden to console ourselves and encourage each other. I remember feeling devastated and wondering why this was happening to me and why had God allowed this incident to transpire.    Around 10am, our dance team leader, Park Micah, who had gone to collect the passports, called from the immigration offices and informed us that both Favour and Jackline's passports had been issued except mine. There had been a list that only included 15 members yet we were 16 so that meant that I was the one who was going to be left behind. The moment I thought about being left behind, I became depressed. How can God allow this? Does He hate me this much? Apparently...

An Angel in Disguise

It was on a Tuesday, I was preparing to go to school at Miramar International College in Kikuyu. This was back in 2019. I had gotten a scholarship from equity to study hydroponics technology. The scholarship catered for my bus fare and meals so I simply decided to just commute. When I went to school that very day, as I was going back home, I went to the stage, I waited for vehicles but none was going towards Naivasha. It was already 6pm and I started panicking. The distance between the college and my home is about 3hrs. As I was fidgeting and growing impatient, a random man approached me. He asked me if he could take me to where I could get the vehicles but I hesitated at first. Him being a man, there were many precarious situations that could play out if I decided to follow him. He was quite terrifying to look at and he had a strabismus condition where his eyes were cross-eyed.    I took the bull by its horns and followed him. Deep in my heart, I was silently praying t...

UNIV: The Event that had Everyone Talking      So, we recently held the first UNIV Leaders Conference in Kenya and it was such blast! It was impressive to witness how global leaders could sit with each other and contemplate on how to solve the various issues affecting the society at large. 'My Small Ideas Change the World' was the driving motto for the conference and we could see how those small ideas contributed immensely in developing the solutions for solving these issues.     The four-day event was held at GBS Tv Africa headquarters near Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi Kenya. We had International leaders all the way from South Korea spearhead the conference and bring it to fruition. It was truly amazing to also see how our very own leaders could brainstorm and come up with viable solutions.      The event was like none other held before and it worked in involving people from all walks of life regardless of age, social and economic status. T...

The Super X Headphones: Say YES to Good Quality Audio

The Super X Headphones: Say YES to Good Quality Audio.     “Don’t stop just like that, mm mm, work it out mm mm...” these are the lyrics I was recently listening to with the latest edition of the (Super X) headphones. You see, music has the power to brighten your mood after a stressful event and it has proven to be quite an effective stress reliever from time to time and I’m pretty sure you will agree with me on this because who doesn’t listen to music right? I believe that each and every one of you is a musician at some point and your bathrooms are your own personal recording studios while taking a shower. Don’t be embarrassed about it, I do that too more times than I can count and I see myself on the road to winning a Grammy one of these fine days. If only wishes were horses. When it comes to music, the quality of the audio you are listening to matters a lot. The cords should hit straight to the core because that is what you deserve. Listening to bad audio can easily...

Unrest In Schools: Who is to Blame?

UNREST IN SCHOOLS: WHO IS TO BLAME?               The country as of late has experienced the worst case of unrest in schools which has led to the destruction of property worth millions through pyromaniac tendencies exhibited by the students. Other negative impact caused by these unrest includes; alteration of the academic calendar, student fights, theft, attacks on teachers, bullying and overall interference of the school administrative system. These factors have caused huge side effects and take a long duration of time to bring things to order. Some of the causes of these unrest include but not limited to; poor administration and mismanagement, congestion within the limited facilities, poor food quality and peer pressure influence via social platforms (Chemutai 2020). It is indeed fitting to get the two sides of the coin in this matter and see who exactly is to blame.         ...
